报告摘要：The concepts of envelopes and covers of modules have played an important role in the theory of modules and rings and have a great impact on homological algebra, representation theory and commutative algebra. This presentation gives a brief history of the development of envelopes and covers of modules. Some recent progress on this subject will be reviewed and some open problems will be discussed.
报告人简介：丁南庆，南京大学数学系二级教授，博士生导师，享受2002年度政府特殊津贴。1981年考入南京大学数学系，1988年硕士毕业留校，1993年获理学博士学位，1997年晋升教授。研究领域为同调代数、环论、模论等，已在国内外重要学术刊物上发表学术论文100余篇，主持完成多项国家自然科学基金及博士点基金项目。1990年获江苏省科技进步奖（第4完成人）；1994年获首届宝钢教育基金优秀教师奖（独立）；1995年获国家教委科技进步奖（第4完成人）；1995年获江苏省第四届青年科技奖（独立）；1996年获第五届霍英东青年教师奖二等奖（独立）；2001年获江苏省教学成果二等奖（第2完成人），2002年获教育部自然科学奖二等奖（第1完成人）；2016年获江苏省教育科学研究成果自然科学二等奖（第2完成人）；2019年获教育部自然科学奖二等奖（第1完成人）。
