In this talk, I will discuss the basic features and procedures of Grad-Shafranov (GS) reconstruction technique as applied to in-situ observations of magnetic flux ropes embedded within large-scale Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections (ICMEs). The method is capable of deriving a fully two-dimensional cross-section of a cylindrical structure utilizing both magnetic and plasma measurements along the spacecraft path across the structure. The method has been applied to examine various magnetic flux-rope structures and to connect with solar source region properties. Recent progress includes more detailed study of the twist distributions within flux ropes. We will discuss the results for a number of events and their implications for the formation and origination of magnetic flux ropes on the Sun.
